Confession...

With The Cowboy working, house clean, and laundry done, I had quite the idle time on my hands this past weekend. So what better to do than thrift? Now, I have a confession to make. And don't judge me, okay? Here goes...I actually haven't been to a thrift store since high school. I know!!!! So far all of my Pyrex finds have been from antique stores (not bad when there are sales!), Craigslist, and eBay. Is that cheating? I'm not sure, but if this maiden thrifting voyage was any indication of things to come, this may be the way to go! I went to exactly one place and found my prize for the day...a 2 1/2 quart yellow square hostess dish WITH lid! This thing is absolutely flawless, like it's never even been used. The color is still nice and vibrant (although tough to tell from this horrible pic...anyone have suggestions on a good camera?). Not too shabby for $5.00, if I do say so myself. And I do...since I'm the one writing this. So there. Anyway...wheeee! Hopefully the next adventure is this fruitful!

Popped my Pink Daisy cherry!

So this may quite be THE worst Pyrex photo ever, but I'm too excited about my most recent 'lil treasure not to post it. It's a 963 divided serving dish that I picked up from a Craigslist ad (is that cheating?), complete with lid and in darn near perfect condition. Originally I had intended on starting my collection with strictly mixing bowls and Cinderella bowls but something about this little beauty screamed, "all the cool kids are doing it"...so here she is. Me thinks I'll keep her.

Want Of The Week

Since I'm obsessed with finding all sorts of girlie goodies online (most of this is done when I should be working...shhh, don't tell my boss!) I've decided to start posting a "Want Of The Week". Hopefully this will keep me disciplined enough to start blogging more than twice a year (okay, fine...my track record is actually much less frequent, if you can believe that...DON'T JUDGE!!!) as well as provide me an outlet for channeling my self-actualization. Now, without further ado (and to prevent the words from getting much bigger...exactly how many syllables are in "self-actualization"?)... the debut of WOTW!!!
Now let me preface by saying that I love Love LOVE my current KitchenAid in brushed dark grey. But sometimes he gets lonely. Enter the KitchenAid Artisan Susan G. Koman Stand Mixer in Raspberry Ice. She's beautiful. She's functional. She's $400. She *will* be mine. And when she is, be ready for cupcakes. Lots and lots of sweet creamy gorgeous fluffy cupcakes.

Bettie

A symbol of feminine power and bravery. Plus I dig her style. And this vintage-y photograph. <3 me some Bettie!
